Welcome to Global Opinion
Global Opinion means to be a window to the world's public opinion.
Here you can vote freely and give your arguments on a variety of universal, global, national and individual issues. All visitors can vote the polls, but you'll need to register if you want to rate the polls or give your arguments. As a registered user you can also propose new polls.
We have just (re)started and there's a lot to be added and done, but improvements are worked on every day and more good questions are coming up, either by us or by you! :)
Our mission
Global Opinion intends to be what its name says: a window to the world's public opinion. A central place where questions on matters of public interest and certain importance can be exposed, its answers archived, organized and eventually statistically analyzed.
The main goal is simply to offer everyone the possibility to give their opinion on fundamental, interesting or some lighter issues, with the possibility to (pro or con) argument the choice. Lots is said about the press and the media influencing the public opinion, but here the public can speak for itself.
If in any way the outcome serves either as an comforting confirmation of your existing point of view or as an inspiring new vision, our primary goal has been reached. In case the results turn out to be useful or interesting on a greater scale we will feel honored.
We think it is important to always maintain an open curiosity towards ourselves and the world that surrounds us. Exchanging points of views should lead to enrichment for all. Since issues generally are not just black or white and we want to avoid polarization, you can give your opinion on a 5 point scale. Even "I don't care/irrelevant" is a valid answer if you really think an issue is not even worth discussing.
At present you find questions divided over three Issue categories: Universal - Global - Individual. National issues are also an option, but we have left them open to the visitors to pose any burning question on a national scale. Like any social web, we would like you to register before you vote. The intention is to count with serious input that generates realistic results. Anonymous input could more easily give unwanted distortion. However, as long as we do not have a considerable traffic anonymous voting is accepted. You do have to sign in if you want to leave arguments, rate the polls themselves or propose new polls.
May it be clear that at Global Opinion considers freedom of speech to be mankind's most important treasure and internet to be it's mayor vehicle. However, we do reserve the right to delete any input that is not within the scope of this website or unrespectful in any way.
Please, be welcome and enjoy your stay :)
